There has been a picture circulating facebook recently of a gay pride version of the raising of the Iwo Jima flag compared to the Iwo Jima flag.  This was posted by an account claiming to be Jennifer Aniston.  There are three problems with this.
- 1. The post was stolen from DV Dan.
- 2. This is not Jennifer Aniston’s facebook account
- 3. The Gay pride version was taken in the early 2000’s by ED Freeman.
Update 6/30/15 9PM EST. The page impersonating Jennifer Aniston has been removed from facebook. More on this below..
To the best of my knowledge Jennifer Aniston does not speak Arabic.  In fact, according to Vanity Fair, Jennifer Aniston is not even on facebook:
For one day, Aniston Instagrammed for Living Proof, contributing a #TBT, a photo of her dog, and a snapshot of the book she was reading. Sure, it was just 24 hours and a few Instagrams, but for Aniston—who is not on Twitter or Facebook—it was an intense introduction to the medium.
Origin of the Iwo Jima Gay Pride Flag in Question
According to Wikipedia, the picture you see to the right was taken in the early 2000’s by Ed Freeman. The person posting this picture under Jennifer Aniston’s name is making it sound like it was taken after the recent Supreme Court ruling. This is not true, it was taken over 10 years ago.
This flag has also been sold online for years at sites like Getty Images.
Iwo Jima
Try to think of the US military before comparing the two incidents.  There are many people, myself included, that take issue with that. My reason is quite simple.  The battle of Iwo Jima was an extremely violent conflict where more Americans lost their lives than the enemy.  The greater war they were fighting liberated several countries.  It was a war fought against communistic evil and racism.
You had a decision that went in your favor, you can get married.  There are several countries in the world where you can still get punished by death if you are caught with a same sex partner.   Your “war” over same sex rights hasn’t even begun.   The men and women of our military have fought wars in several of those countries, they can testify to how difficult it is.  Many of them never came back, just as many came back but the war will never leave them.   They have done more for the people in those countries than anyone in your movement has.  Regardless if you agree with the government that gives them the orders, you should always respect the men and women of the military.
Say that you are a same sex rights advocate, and a soldier took an iconic flag of a huge moment in your movements history, and changed it into a pro military banner, and then used it to gain interest in fighting a war you were opposed to. How would you feel?
What's your opinion?

What everyone misssed
The person impersonating Jennifer Aniston also posts videos in Arabic by a person named Ahmed Deedat. His own scholars have accused him of being Anti Christian/Anti any religion other than Islam. Furthermore people on his own facebook page have accused him of spewing hatred against Christianity and they also claim to of have tried to get him suspended.
Mocking Christianity
Impersonating Aniston
Slandering Israel
Using Starving African babies to get shares
Islam and Homosexuality
You’re happy about the recent supreme court ruling.  You can get married now anywhere in the country.  What about the 10 countries in the world where you can get hung for being a homosexual?  What about those people?  In Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Mauritania, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Nigeria, Sudan, and Somalia homosexuality is punishable by death. That’s only the ones that the Washington Post want to report because if you look at the truth, other countries like Afghanistan Homosexuality is also punishable by death, so it’s far more than 10 countries.
Facebook finally suspends fake account
After I assume thousands of people (going by analytics) reported the facebook page impersonating Jennifer Aniston, the page was finally removed from Facebook.  We cannot say if this is temporary or permanent.  The person running the page was more than likely required to prove that they were Jennifer Aniston, when they can’t, the page will be permanently deleted.
According to Facebooks Policy, it specifically says you cannot use a fake name when opening a facebook account.
She did say it
Do you have a link to a source that says this? The facebook page in question is not her facebook page, she is not on social media. That facebook page it is coming from is not Jenifer Aniston’s it’s someone impersonating her.
No it was stolen from the DV Dan Facebook page. He posted that the day it was announced and the pictures came back out. He is a Marine and by all rights should be angry with both the picture and the theft of his intellectual property
We could all report the facebook page where this started at:
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jennifer-Aniston/218606074817980?fref=ts
The post that started it all is the second one from the top as of 11PM EST
I dont care when it was taken, it is rediculous to even think they are close to the same
No one’s saying they did… Whoever made the picture was using the symbolism of the flag raising in a different light. Which wasn’t meant to be disrespectful, they are imitating the symbolism of a famous image. No one is comparing being gay to being a soldier, just like the person who made this shirt isn’t comparing a game of basketball to war. This picture is also super old and is only being circulated now because gay rights are a controversial topic at the moment. Anything to fight over.
The only reason people are even giving WWII and those brave souls a second thought since World History 1, is because this controversial image got stirred up because of the Supreme Courts recent decision on gay marriage. Otherwise people would still be awwing over the cat videos and such and we would be ignorant to the fact that that image even existed, like we had been since it was made lol.
They ARE comparing being gay to being a Marine fighting one of the bloodiest Battle of WWII. That the only way the gay picture works. It discusts me that they think they are even 1% close to what those brave men did, but…..I also believe that unless the most vile speech is protected, that there is no free speech. Marine, and nephew of a Marine who was wounded on Okinawa.
It can’t be just a victorious pose comparative? It can “only” work one way? Well, as a legacy of a grandparent that survived the Bataan Death March, to then enlist in the U.S. Army, to then wait for years for full benefits, at least he lived while he was still being unequal in the second country he fought for. Just to be honest to the humanity, being unequal for so long and being killed (not as many deaths in as little time as war) while still seen as a lesser person just for existing, I’d say a ruling like this is a step towards victory for such a minority… and a picture of a victorious moment is a fine comparative. It does not minimize the obvious efforts of those veterans. It in fact enhances their original proud moment as their battle was, as typed, “fought against… racism”. Against categorical dehumanizing. Tens of thousands of LGBT hate crimes a year… in the 2000s. They’re just existing. Not even in a war. So thanks to the veterans who fought against such vicious dehumanizing enemies. Seriously. Like I said, my grandfather was one of them. A picture will never minimize their efforts nor does such intend to piss off the veterans. It is an homage and enhancement of their efforts, understanding this is a different battle but a small victory in a greater war of civil rights. There need not be parallels of death and quotas of such numbers, for this war is not as blatant. It may not be the veterans’ battle but for others, it is their life.
Service members give these people our respect and our fallen are always in our thoughts. So don’t make like people forgot about them and only now are thinking about them.
The post did not come from Jennifer Aniston. It came from DV Dan, a veteran that helps run the Dysfunctional Veterans website.
I set up something called a Free Speech zone where people can say whatever they want to about this. The problem with approving comments that have foul language or anything of that nature in them is when google and other search engines crawl this page they can mark it as offensive. Therefor to the people that really want to say something about this without having to worry about being moderated or removed, register, and then click the “Free Speech Zone For This Topic” button above. Website owners have their hands tied with free speech due to the powers that be on the internet, this is the best way to counter it.
If you’re having any problems registering as we just worked on that system continually today until it worked fine on our end, comment on this thread.
The rant written under the picture are the words of DV Dan, the rant about the picture was pulled off of the dysfunctional veterans page on facebook.
What is dysfunctional……the fact that they aren’t gay??? What is wrong with being “NOT GAY” all of a sudden? ? Most people are NOT gay. ….in FACT. 98.5 0/0 thats right ninety eight and a half percent are NOT GAY!!!! So LEAVE US ALONE!!!
I’m pretty sure that’s what the page is actually called, idiot.
So if Facebook has a rule that you have to use your real name, why is this unknown person allowed to impersonate Jennifer Aniston. I’m fairly positive if enough people reported the person for not using their real name, facebook would require them to send proof of identification to them, and when they couldn’t, the account would be shut down? Am I not right? This is the account:
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jennifer-Aniston/218606074817980?fref=ts
Regardless of when the picture was taken it is still offensive.
There was an article in the Independent Journal Review about the picture. What I found interesting is the comments regarding the statement. They were talking about the First Amendment and the Freedom of Expression. Many that I know find this offensive and it is probably due to the fact that they are either veterans themselves or families of veterans. This ties into the Confederate Flag issue because it is being debated to make it illegal to fly. I even read that President Obama signed an executive order stating such (not sure if this is true, so more research needed). It is offensive to many, just as this picture is, but most think it should be left alone and if others find it offensive they shouldn’t look at it. Should this not be the same stance when it comes to the Confederate Flag?
The Liberal media tells us not to judge all Muslims based on the actions of a few, but when it comes to Americans that live in this country, we are told to judge all people from the south based on the actions of a few.
Thank you for this information. I really think this should be posted on the “new” post regarding the rainbow flag. I don’t understand why fb continues to let this person impersonate a well known person.
I would do this (Post it on a new page) but this page is viral now, it’s getting so many hits I have to sit here and watch the server to make sure it doesn’t crash. If I posted it on another page I doubt anyone would see it.
The only way we can get enough people angry about Facebook not enforcing their policies on this person is to make everyone aware of it on a page that is getting a lot of attention. The facebook page should be banned, if it is I’ll update the story.
There I changed it one last time as of 2:15PM EST 6/30/2015. I put the more relevant information at the top and removed a lot of the less relevant info that was at the bottom.

So what a lot of people are seeming to miss is that not only was it from a fake acount. But it was stolen word for word from Dysfunctional Veterans own co-host/event manager DV Dan’s pages. His post has since then been reported. Probably by the same person impersonating Jen.
We’re trying to see if he wants us to link to him from this article which we want to do in order to give him credit for it but will not until we politely ask him first.
Good analysis but you are incorrect on the death numbers from the battle. 6,821 Americans died and 18,444 Japanese died. The total American casualties (26,000) do eclipse the Japanese numbers though.
I went by what they said on military.com “Iwo Jima was the only Marine battle where the American casualties, 26,000, exceeded the Japanese — most of the 22,000 defending the island. The 6,800 American servicemen killed doubled the deaths of the Twin-Towers of 9/11.” It’s kind of worded confusing, 26,000 causalities and then later 6,800 servicemen killed? http://www.military.com/NewContent/0,13190,NI_Iwo_Jima2,00.html
My cousin, and I am sure plenty of other peoples cousins, DIED at Iwo Jima May 1945. He Died fighting for MY freedom And yours!
Have you ever tried to load this site on a mobile device? It renders horribly. Text on top of text, images and text mixed, text going off the side of the screen.
I’ve loaded it on several mobile devices. It sounds to me like you’re using a default browser on an older android device, we don’t support that. This website is 100% responsive and has been tested on mobile safari and mobile chrome, both work fine. Older android browsers built into the phone will probably not work right. I just checked it on both an iphone5 and an android phone, no display issues for me.
More “TRUTH”… the post was lifted from a Marine and used on the “jennifer Aniston” fb page… look up “DV Dan” of the Dysfunctional Veteran fb group… he wrote it, not the fake jennifer Aniston that’s getting all the publicity
